How we handle personal data
How Dyrid mitt collects, uses, stores, and protects information about users and pets.
Dyrid mitt is a web service that allows pet owners to keep track of information about their pets, such as medical history, vaccinations, and care instructions.
The service may also allow pet owners to share information with veterinary clinics.
Dyrid mitt is committed to protecting personal data and processing it in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including Act no. 90/2018 and GDPR (EU) 2016/679.

Veterinary clinic access
Dyrid mitt can allow veterinary clinics to connect to the system to view and register information related to pet health and care.
Such access is based on the owner's permission or decision to share data with the clinic in the service.
Clinic verification and access control
To ensure security and reliability, veterinary clinics must go through a verification process before access is granted.
Dyrid mitt administrators verify that the individual works for the named clinic before granting access.
Each clinic is responsible for deciding which staff members have access, and for how those accounts are used.
Changes to medical records
If an owner grants a clinic access, that clinic may, in connection with services provided to the pet:
- view information in the system
- register new medical record entries
- update information related to treatment or service
These entries are made under the responsibility of the relevant clinic.
Data sharing
Dyrid mitt does not sell personal data and does not share it with third parties unless:
- the pet owner chooses to share with a veterinary clinic
- service providers process data on our behalf (for example email or analytics services) under contract
- required by law or regulation

Data is stored on secure servers and is only available to authorized parties.
Data is kept as long as needed to provide the service, or until the user requests deletion, unless law requires otherwise.
